Effect of oxide films and structural inhomogeneities on transmission of ultracold neutrons through foils

Monte Carlo simulations are performed of the ultracold neutron (UCN) transmission through metal foils relevant to experiments with UCN, and the UCN albedo from an inhomogeneous 6LiF layer. The computations are based on the measured energy dependent cross sections of real materials.
