An efficient method was proposed to determine the cross sections of charge exchange in ion-molecule collisions. The cross sections for charge exchange were derived by comparing the calculated ion transport parameters with the measured data. The computational procedure was presented by obtaining the cross sections of charge exchange for NO+ and CO+ ions in NO and CO gases, respectively. The present method is usable for providing the accurate cross sections of charge exchange in ion-molecule collisions with the particle modeling of plasma discharges.
